Our founders
Kate Shepherd
Co-founder & Executive Strategic Director
One half of TFC’s founding duo, Kate is a brand strategist, future-forecaster and speaker with a deep understanding of design, retail and consumer culture.
For over two decades, Kate has strategically advised many of the world’s leading brands, creating and evolving brand identities and retail experiences that truly resonate with their target audiences.
Drawing on her design management background, Kate leads as our primary brand guardian, nurturing creativity, excellence and innovation across our clients, collaborators and team.
Kate’s passion lies in the intersection between design and innovation trends and shifts in consumer culture, and she loves conveying and articulating complex information in beautifully simple ways.
Over the years, she has worked on many high-profile projects with visionary brands, including adidas, Levi’s and Audi. Collaborating with industry leaders, co-authoring several reports and books and speaking widely about the future of retail and the key macrotrends driving consumer and cultural change and innovation.
Matt Parry
Co-founder & Executive Managing Director
Driven by a belief in design as a force for good, Matt Parry co-founded The Future Collective alongside his co-founder Kate with a shared mission to redefine what it means to be a design and innovation consultancy today.
With over two decades of senior strategy and transformation experience across major FTSE businesses, Matt specialises in future innovation, customer experience and business transformation. He has a proven track record of structuring programmes that unlock new value and drive meaningful change.
As a lead adviser, Matt guides our clients creatively, strategically and organisationally. His deep fascination with artificial intelligence, coupled with a background in business transformation, provides a rare perspective on the opportunities and implications of AI for their organisations.
Alongside his co-founder Kate, Matt regularly hosts global innovation briefings for audiences of 1,000+, sharing insight on what’s next and how to act on it.
