Challenge

Arla’s ambition is to revolutionise the foodservice sector through a proactive and innovative approach — staying ahead of emerging product, process and packaging trends with a strategic focus on the dynamic landscape of dairy and plant-based products.

How can we lead the way in driving positive change and setting new standards in the foodservice industry?

Our role

Our brief was to provide an independent outlook on the future of the UK foodservice market and generate insights for QSR and FSR channels — providing Arla with scalable, customer-focused innovations that could feed its five-year innovation pipeline.

Approach

We began by deep-diving into the key challenges and innovations emerging within the sector. Together with our client we identified areas for test and validation with key customers. Blending primary qualitative and quantitative research, we arrived at a selection of test concepts and innovations to scale within the business.

With the objective of inspiring the next generation of Arla Pro opportunities, we also hosted two strategic ideation workshops in London with a selection of industry professionals from organised chains and independents.

Impact

We used the trends and insights research and consumer survey findings to drive more in-depth investigations and discussions, identifying relevant and scalable innovation to support Arla Pro’s customers’ needs — and a pipeline of concepts the business could test, validate and scale.
