Design for Better 2.0 - London Design Festival

Following on from the success of our Design for Better virtual event, we hosted a live forum in Shoreditch during the London Design Festival in September 2022.

Drawing on our network of visionary experts, entrepreneurs and academics, we brought together a truly inspirational line-up of speakers including IKEA, Space10, H&M, Atelier100 and Aesop, alongside industry experts in societal and cultural trends and future thinking and entrepreneurship.

Over three-days, we hosted an intimate programme of talks and panel discussions exploring how we can build a better future for people, the planet and business as a whole.

Bringing together designers and makers, crafters and carers, scientists and storytellers, strategists and visionaries. Encouraging them to share their unique stories and perspectives about treading a new path and creating positive change and impact.

On Day One we centred on the theme of Circularity, inviting the Chief Creative Officer of IKEA, Marcus Engman, and Camilla from H&M to describe the concept behind Atelier100 and share their story of local craftsmanship and community.

On Day Two we focused on the theme of Social Cause, and we invited a stellar line up of people to the stage, including Helen Job from SPACE10 who spoke about ‘What constitutes Good Design?’.

We devoted the third and final day of our forum to the subject of becoming a B Corp, inviting Kyle Soo, the partnerships and product manager at B Lab UK to join our co-founders to host a fast-paced series of presentations from some of the guiding lights in the B Corp community.

Handing the mic to each one in turn, we heard people from COAT Paints, Flexi-Hex, DEPLOY London, Pentire Drinks, Pip & Nut and more share their personal stories about why they have turned B Corp and what it really means to their business.

Our event drew in a stellar crowd, including Dezeen, It’s Nice That, Stylus, Royal College of Art, Selfridges, (check the attendee list)
