Don’t slow down, speed up

Deep care and stillness, blended with a “just do it” mentality. Why the era of augmentation rewards motion — prototype, test, pivot — and why sometimes the only way to know is to try.

Don’t slow down, speed up

The unique thing which we think works so well about our founder duo is the blend of deep care and stillness with the speed of a ‘just do it’ mentality.

Working side by side every day, we’ve seen just how important it is to stay in motion. Not just for the sake of speed itself, but to stay aligned with the pace of change around us.

There’s never been a better time to go faster, now that we’re moving into this era of augmentation. The speed of change generally is faster than it’s ever been.

In this era where human intuition meets machine intelligence, the pace of transformation is exponential.

We are redefining new metrics of success and failure. What we’re seeing emerge are more fluid, adaptive measures: how quickly you can prototype, how often you test and learn, how easily you can pivot when something doesn’t land. Sometimes the only way to know is to try.

Our advice? If you’re up against competitors, go faster.

The ability to learn in real time is a baseline for us.

Prototype, experiment, try things out.

Start small, but crucially, stay open. The answers will come through motion.

Kate and Matt talk this through in Collective Conversations, episode 8: Don’t slow down, speed up.
